Here's a little game I play every once in a while, and I'll bet I'm not the only one playing it.
This is how I entertain myself when I'm bored. I go to my favorite news site and read the headlines. When I see an article that might interest me, and that I might want to comment on, I move my curser to click on the link.
Now here's where the happy fun-time part comes in; before I actually click into the story I stop and say out loud how many comments will be posted before I read a nasty comment.
Depending on the topic, and my vast experience at said news site, I might say within five comments I'll find a nasty comment, or maybe none if the story is about say cookies, I mean who hates on cookies? Oops... wait, there seems to be no shortage of 'haters' in the world, I better backup on that statement. Cookies can suck too! :(
So, when I'm ready for happy fun-time, I click into the story and go as fast as I can to the comments. In this game there is no point in actually reading the article, just speed right to the posts. Then start reading.
If I don't find a nasty comment by the number I told myself, I get up and go to the nearest door and slam my fingers with said door. But, if I win? I have another shot of whiskey and continue playing.
You might ask how I'm doing with my happy fun-time picks? Well, I can still type with both hands. I guess I'm pretty good? How 'bout you? Wanna play?
Oh, and for some happy fun-time variation, sometimes I switch up the game and pick an article I know will have nasty comments right from the start. Then I try to guess how many snide remarks I'll have to read before I find a nice post. Fun times indeed!!!
Note: no fingers were lost in the writing of this article. Please... let's keep it that way! Be nice!
